Fortified
Trash hits harder, scales by 20%+
What it is
Fortified is one of two rotating tier-defining affixes in Mythic+. On a Fortified week, every non-boss enemy in the dungeon — trash, miniboss adds, summoned creatures — gains roughly 20% additional health and 30% additional damage. Bosses are unaffected. The result: pulls that felt comfortable on Tyrannical weeks turn into healer-throughput tests, especially in dungeons with high trash density.
How the affix works
Mechanically, Fortified scales the base health and damage multipliers of every non-boss creature in a Mythic+ instance. Boss encounters use their normal scaling. The buff applies invisibly — there is no on-screen indicator on individual mobs, just the weekly affix label in your keystone tooltip.
How our squad plays around it
On Fortified weeks, our squads adjust pull sizes downward by one pack on long routes — the timer math still works, but the wipe risk on chain-pull mistakes is higher. Trash CC becomes more valuable: stops, fears, and snares that would be optional on Tyrannical become mandatory on +18 Fortified pulls. Healer cooldown rotation is tighter; we pre-assign defensives per pull rather than reacting.
When this affix is active
Fortified is active on every keystone +7 and above on alternating weeks. The week-to-week rotation pairs Fortified with Tyrannical; you'll never see both at once.
