Bosses hit harder, scales by 30%+
What it is
Tyrannical is the other half of the rotating tier affix pair. On a Tyrannical week, boss encounters gain roughly 30% additional health and 15% additional damage. Trash is unaffected. Pulls feel light and fast; bosses turn into endurance tests where one missed defensive can cost 30 seconds and one missed mechanic can cost the timer.
How the affix works
Tyrannical scales boss creatures only — health and damage are buffed at the boss level. Trash mobs and add-spawned creatures during boss fights are unaffected (with rare exceptions documented per encounter). The buff applies on pull, no on-screen indicator beyond the weekly affix in keystone tooltip.
How our squad plays around it
On Tyrannical weeks our squads run heavier defensive comps and play around boss-cooldown windows more carefully. Pre-pot before pulls becomes standard at +18 and above. Bloodlust/heroism timing is locked to the last 25% of boss health to push through the extended fight. We avoid greedy mechanic execution — clip an unnecessary mechanic for safety, the boss still falls before timer.
When this affix is active
Tyrannical activates at +7 and above on alternating weeks (rotating with Fortified). Above +18 the buff makes some final bosses 1-2 minute fights instead of 30-second burndowns.
